“One Health and Wellness”
Following on from a phenomenal HUPO Congress in Dublin, the BSPR continues its vibrant activity and engagement by announcing the Society's 15th Annual scientific meeting which is being held in Bradford. This year the theme is “One Health and Wellness” including technology development and computational proteomics.
One Health, in which proteomics plays a significant role, linking human, animal, nutrition and environmental health, is a global initiative to connect medical, veterinary, agricultural and physical disciplines and understand the interrelationships with our surroundings. One of the consequences of One Health is the development of the concept of wellness.
Wellness is the active process by which we will self-monitor our own health and adjust our individual requirements to remain healthy. An understanding and ability to profile our own personal proteomes, to regularly visualise the results will enable us to make informed decisions about our own health trajectory. The BSPR Annual Scientific Meeting 2018 will explore current proteomics strategies that encompass all aspects of One Health and Wellness, as well as their impact on disease stratification and precision medicines.
