Detailed Description
Join us for this 2-day conference as the University of Bradford and Lord Mayor Beverley Mullaney host the Banyamulenge community to commence dialogue through a range of activities.
Over two days the Department for Peace Studies and International Development (PSID) and Centre for Inclusion and Diversity (CfID) will co-host workshops with guests from the Banyamulenge community.
Day 1 of the conference will see plenary panel discussions and workshops focused on the Banyamulenge in international context and testimonies on community experiences aimed at opening up discussions. The day will end with the Lord Mayor presiding over a panel discussion.
Day 2 will commence with a panel and discussion aiming to discuss the challenges and opportunities available for developing shared understandings between Banyamulenge and other identity groups in Great Lakes and East Africa regions. Workshop discussions will then following building on these conversations and exploring the priorities for Banyamulenge communities in the UK and how to increase international awareness.
